Busy times… Facing an email backlog of 30 days and tonight was scheduled to tackle it (at least a bit).
Mother-in-law visiting and about to leave tomorrow: "BTW: I'd like to back-up my pics on this external HD and I don't know how to do it."
I was tempted to take the camera and HD to do it quickly while answering emails but thought: "Give a hungy person a fish and s/he has food for one day, teach her/him to fish and bla bla…" So, in an heroic effort to disregard the backlog, I sat down with her to teach her how to back-up things on her external HD.
15 seconds later, it seems that NTFS-3G is not supported on her system while I can access the disc on mine just fine. I tend to install the distro I use on other people's computers. We're both running Debian, though her's is wheezy, mine is jessie… oh…
Dist-upgrade time! Should have, could have done this way earlier, so now it has to be done and my email backlog may grow just a little bit more… Sorry to all who are waiting on an answer from me!
Is there a common hashtag for stories like this, like #familyadmin or so? I'd subscribe to it! 🙂
